Season 21: Upheaval

The following maps will be available in Pubs and Ranked for the first half of this season: Broken Moon, Kings Canyon, World’s Edge.

  • Season 21 Split 1: from May 7 to June 25

  • Season 21 Split 2: from June 25 to August 6

Season 20: Breakout

The following maps will be available in Trios and Duos for the season: Olympus, Storm Point, World’s Edge.

With Season 20, Respawn reintroduced a mid season split which will drop our rankings by 6 divisions (1.5 ranks).

  • Season 20 Split 1: from February 13 to April 2

  • Season 20 Split 2: from April 2 to around May 7

Season 19: Ignite

The following maps will be available for public matchmaking in the Battle Royale mode: Broken Moon, Olympus, and Storm Point.

Season 18: Resurrection

The following maps will be available for public matchmaking in the Battle Royale mode: Broken Moon, Kings Canyon, and Olympus.

Season 17: Arsenal

Starting from this season there is no more split reset, with a full seasonal reset started off with 10 provisional games.

Season 16: Revelry

Ranked queue will now rotate through all maps in play, 24 hours per map. The maps for the first split are World's Edge, Storm Point, and Broken Moon.

  • Season 16 Split 1: from February 14 to April 4

  • Season 16 Split 2: from April 4 to May 9

Season 15: Eclipse

The following maps will be available for public matchmaking in the Battle Royale mode: Broken Moon, Olympus, World’s Edge.

  • Season 15 Split 1: from November 1 to January 17

  • Season 15 Split 2: from January 17 to February 14

Season 14: Hunted

The maps rotating for public matches during Hunted are: Kings Canyon, World’s Edge, and Storm Point.

  • Season 14 Split 1: from August 9 to September 27.

  • Season 14 Split 2: from September 27 to November 1.

Season 13: Saviours

The map rotation for the season for Saviors will be Storm Point, Olympus, and World’s Edge.

  • Season 13 Split 1: from May 10 to June 28.

  • Season 13 Split 2: from June 28 to August 9.

Season 12: Defiance

Split 1 will be played on Olympus, and we’ll move over to Kings Canyon for Split 2 in April.

  • Season 12 Split 1: from February 8 to April 5.

  • Season 12 Split 2: from April 5 to May 10.

Season 11: Escape

For the Escape update the map rotation will be back down to 2 maps: Storm Point and World’s Edge. With Storm Point being a whole new map, we want to make sure players have plenty of time to master the new arena.

  • Season 11 Split 1: from November 2 to December 21.

  • Season 11 Split 2: from December 21 to February 8.

Season 10: Emergence

World’s Edge is back for the first split which is currently scheduled to begin August 3, 2021 and ends September 21, 2021. The second split takes us to Kings Canyon, where the remainder of the season will play out.

  • Season 10 Split 1: from August 3 to September 21.

  • Season 10 Split 2: from September 21 to November 2.

Despite improvements today, we're still seeing roughly three times the normal rate of disconnect errors in Apex Legends, and a full return to normal may take until our next planned patch on Sept 22.

We'll extend the current ranked split by one week—that update will go live Monday.

Season 9: Legacy

World’s Edge is back for the first split which ends June 15, 2021. The second split takes us to Olympus where the remainder of the season will play out.

  • Season 9 Split 1: from May 4 to June 15.

  • Season 9 Split 2: from June 15 to August 3.

Season 8: Mayhem

Kings Canyon crashes back into the scene for the first split which ends March 23rd, 2021. The second split will take us back to Olympus for the remainder of the Season. World’s Edge is taking a break from ranked play but will return in a later season.

  • Season 8 Split 1: from February 2 to March 23.

  • Season 8 Split 2: from March 23 to May 4.

Season 7: Ascension

Since this season brings a new map to the games, we’ll be starting with Olympus, then moving to World’s Edge in the second split, with the planned split reset on December 15, 2020. King’s Canyon will sit this season out for ranked play but will return in a later season

  • Season 7 Split 1: from November 4 to December 15.

  • Season 7 Split 2: from December 15 to February 1.

Season 6: Boosted

The developers affirmed that Mid-Season Splits have proven to be very engaging for players, so they will continue with them also this season. We’ll be starting with World’s Edge, then moving to Kings Canyon, with the planned split reset on September 29th.

  • Season 6 Split 1: from August 18 to September 29.

  • Season 6 Split 2: from September 29 to November 4.

Season 5: Fortune’s Favor

There are no changes to the ranked split system. Each split has a duration of six weeks, and Respawn will change maps and soft reset our rank at the end of each split.

The first split is based on King’s Canyon, while on June 30th we will move on World’s Edge.

  • Season 5 Split 1: from May 12 to June 30.

  • Season 5 Split 2: from June 30 to August 18.

Season 4: Assimilation

Starting from season 4, Ranked Series have a standard duration of three months and are divided into two splits. The rank is soft reset at the end of each split.

  • Season 4 Split 2: from March 24 to May 5.

Update: Season 4 end is delayed to Tuesday, May 12th, 10AM PDT.

We’re extending Season 4 by one week, giving those who want to grind out their Battle Pass or try and hit that next level of Ranked a little more time to do so before Season 5 kicks off on May 12.

Season 2: Battle Charge

Respawn introduced Ranked Series in season 2. The first one is scheduled to run for the entire duration of the season, but in the future they may not be in sync with the Apex Legends seasons. We will have more info on the Ranked Series cadence near the end of season 2.

Season 2 started on July 2nd and will run through September, ending around September 30th or October 1st.

Season 1: Wild Frontier

Apex Legends season 1 started with the release of the Battle Pass on March 19th, 2019. Initially, its conclusion was planned for June 4th, but Respawn extended it for a few more weeks, so it ended on June 18th.
