Where to find Gear items in Temtem - All map locations
A list of all the gear items in Temtem. I have explained where to get each gear, their map locations, and how to complete the required quests.
Gears are special items that can be equipped to Temtem to improve their capabilities in PVE or PVP content. You can obtain them via main/side quests, or pick them up in certain places of the Airborne Archipelago.
Gears can’t be bought, sold, or traded, and they are not consumed when equipped - the only exceptions are DNA strands for breeding.
The gears below are sorted according to the island where they can be found.
Gear locations in Deniz
Umbrella
Umbrella reduces the damage received by 20% when hit by Water techniques. It is great to face the first Dojo.
This item is rewarded by NPC Tour Operator after completing the side quest “Tour Guide”. Speak to any of the nearby tourists and select the following dialogue choices:
The first chat option doesn’t matter.
Pasiphae of Turquesa.
Thalassian Cliffs.
The town of Turquesa.
The last two chat options do not matter.
Talisman
Talisman prevents the Doomed status condition. It can be found on the top floor of Windward Fort.
Coward’s Cloak
Coward’s Cloak allows the Temtem holding it to gain experience from battle without even taking part in it.
You can get this item (and most of the following ones) only after defeating Sophia, the Dojo master of Arissola, as the surfboard is required to traverse water.
Go to Windward Fort.
Reach the prison floor (the basement).
Use the surfboard and follow the “1” path to access Sillaro River.
Coward’s Cloak is at the center of the spiral rock formation on the left.
Before picking it up, you must win four duels against Clan Belsoto.
Decoy
Decoy increases the chance of running away from untamed Temtem combat. It is rewarded after completing the “Missing Kids” side quest.
To start the quest, talk with Headmistress Dolça on the top floor of the Accademia in Briçal de Mar, Deniz. You must find Yusuf and Roger, who are on the south-west shore of the Indigo Lake. I have marked both locations on the map above.
Four-leaf Clover
Four-leaf Clover increases the catch-rate when capturing untamed Temtem.
Before Alpha 0.5.10, this item could be acquired only with the use of Crystal Skates. The developers changed its placement to help the players who skipped it and advanced in the main story (you lose Crystal Skates after the wreck of the Narwhal).
Four-leaf Clover is inside Aguamarina Caves, on the floor with the first crystal maze. After entering the main cave, follow the “E” path (image above), go past the maze (the video below shows how to solve the puzzle), and you will find the item before the “H” path.
Gear locations in Omninesia
Lightning Rod
Lightning Rod reduces the damage received by 20% when hit by Electric techniques.
This item is given by Oliana after starting the quest Blueprint Delivery. She is on the bottom floor of the Myrisles Engineering building in the southern part of Nanga, Superior Omninesia. Completing the quest is not necessary to receive and keep Lighting Rod.
Ice Cube
Ice Cube reduces the damage received by 20% when hit by Fire techniques.
This item is on the left side of the first platform segment of the Mokupuni Dojo (the second one), in Superior Omninesia.
Pillow
Pillow restores 10% max HP of an Asleep Temtem at the start of the turn.
This item is rewarded after completing the “Paparazzo” side quest in Mokupuni, Superior Omninesia.
Paparazzo asks to locate Visesia, the most famous celebrity in the Airborne Archipelago.
You can find her in a house at The Flywalk in Citerior Omninesia. I have marked it on the map below.
Fire Chip
Fire Chip increases the damage dealt with Fire techniques by 10%. It is located in the south-east area of Anak Volcano.
Pansunscreen
Pansunscreen prevents the Burnt status condition. It is inside Nanga Dojo, in an item box next to Filisione.
Hand Fan, Lure, Coat
Hand Fan increases the damage dealt with Wind techniques by 10%.
Lure forces untamed Temtem to target the bearer.
Coat reduces the damage received by 20% when hit by Wind techniques.
All these items are given by NPC Tarlae via the side quest “Travel Writer” after describing Deniz, Omninesia, and Tucma.
After the Narwhal lands to Omninesia, you can find Tarlae in her house in Nanga, Superior Omninesia.
Proteins
Proteins doubles the TV gain from defeating untamed Temtem.
This item can be found at the bottom floor of Giant Banyan in Citerior Omninesia, but before being able to pick it up you must defeat Nanga Dojo (the third one).
Gear locations in Tucma
Note: Acid-Proof Surfboard is required to traverse acid on the island of Tucma. It is rewarded from the main quest “Water Supply”
Chamomile, Grease
Chamomile: When entering the battlefield, removes stage changes.
Grease prevents the Trapped status condition.
You can find them at Wreck of the Narwhal. The video below shows the location of all the items in that area (Grase at 3.09 minutes).
Tucma Mask
Tucma Mask reduces the damage received by 20% when hit by Toxic techniques.
It is a gift from Naolin during the main quest “Shipwrecked in Tucma!”. Naolin is located in the north-west area of Corrupted Badlands.
Energy Drink, Rock Shield, Squeezer
Energy Drink prevents the Asleep status condition.
Rock Shield reduces the damage received by 20% when hit by Crystal techniques.
Squeezer: Healing medicine items used in battle restore an additional 70% HP.
All these items are rewards from the main quest “Find Kemal” in Quetzal, Tucma Subsurface. Just follow the main story ;).
Shuine’s Horn
Shuine’s Horn changes the Temtem’s Toxic-type techniques to Water.
It is a reward from the main quest “Beached Narwhal”. You can get it in Kakama Cenote after defeating Max.
Sweatband
Sweatband: at the start of the turn restores 15% of max STA.
This item is a reward from the side quest “Cultist Hunt”. The quest starts after defeating Valentina and Federico in Kupeleleza (marked on the map above).
Rock-hopping hook is required to reach this location. You will unlock this tool as a reward from Manki during the main quest “Shipwrecked in Tucma!”
Snare
Snare: When attacked, disables the attacker’s gear.
This item is a gift from the Guildmaster of Tucma during the side quest “Blueprint Delivery”.
To start the quest, Talk to Oliana on the bottom floor of the Myrisles Engineering building in the southern part of Nanga, Superior Omninesia.
Before being able to finish this quest, you must complete the other quests associated with the main story “Shipwrecked in Tucma!”.
