Brigitte will join Competitive mode in Season 10

Brigitte will join Competitive mode in Season 10

The new Overwatch hero, Brigitte, will join Quick Play and Arcade mode on March 20, but she won’t be available in competitive play until the start of season 10.

Earlier this week, Blizzard announced Brigitte official release, so all players will be able to enjoy her in the Live Client.

Everyone was expecting her addition to the competitive roster in a few weeks. But, Overwatch developer Scott Mercer commented in the Blizzard forum explaining their desire to not introduce new maps/heroes in the mid of the season and give all players the time to test her.

Starting with the releases of Blizzard World and Brigitte, we made the decision to debut new maps and heroes in Competitive Play at the beginning of the season that follows their release.

This means that Brigitte will become available in Competitive Play when Season 10 begins, just as Blizzard World became available at the beginning of Season 9.

This will help give each competitive season a stronger identity, as well as provide the community with plenty of time to learn how to play with new maps or heroes.
— Scott Mercer

Season 9 started only on February 28, so many players find the long waiting time unreasonable. We won’t be able to play Brigitte in competitive mode until the end of April.
