The future of seasons
In the past, there were only three seasons per year, and their duration was less predictable.
The developer team published a blog post about the future of the seasons in Destiny 2 on August 29th, 2019:
Starting from year 3, there will be four seasons per year.
They have standardized the duration of each season to about 10 weeks.
If you don’t want to pay for an entire year of content, you can now buy individual seasons.
The starting and ending date of the current season is indicated on the Bungie website, so the countdown on this page follows the official date.
Season 11 delay
The Beyond Light expansion will bring tons of new features to Destiny 2. Unfortunately, remote work caused delays in the dev schedule, so Season of Arrivals has been extended by about six weeks and will end on November 10th.
Season 10 schedule delays
On March 5th, Bungie published a dev post regarding potential patch delays in the near future.
They are doing their best to ensure the health and safety or their employees, and while Season 10 start date won’t change, there is a possibility that their new remote work infrastructure and policy could affect the patching cadence in the short term and lead to delays in the roadmap.
