SL i-League Invitational Shanghai EU qualifier revealed

StarLadder announced the start of the EU qualifier for SL i-League Invitational Shanghai. 20 teams will battle for a single spot at the Chinese event.

StarLadder revealed the European qualifier format just two hours prior the first matches. It is composed of two phases. In the first, 16 teams will fight split in two different Bo3 single elimination brackets. The games will take place from September 24 to 26.

The best two teams from each bracket will advance to the second phase. Here, they will join four invited teams into another single elimination bracket. The winners of the first phase won’t be seeded against each other.

Heroics, mousesports, and Team EnVyUs received a direct invite to the second stage, plus a fourth team not yet disclosed.

The final winner will earn a ticket to Shanghai, China, and battle against seven more teams for the $150,000 prize pool. Only Tyloo and Gambit Esports received an invite so far, but more will be revealed in the following weeks. The LAN is planned for November 2 to 5.
