EnVyUs succeeded at IEM Oakland EU qualifier

Team EnVyUs took part in the European battle for IEM Oakland XII, and qualified for the LAN event after defeating mousesports 2-0 in the finals.

Eight teams fought in the EU online qualifier: Team EnVyUs and five more received a direct invite; the remaining two earned their spot through the open qualifier.

EnVy faced Fnatic and North in the earlier rounds, winning with a combined 4-1 score. The finals featured a best-of-three battle against mousesports, but they fell to the French squad after only two maps.

IEM Oakland XII is planned for November 16-19. 12 teams will battle for a $300,000 prize pool - all the participants have been determined but the winners of the North American qualifier.

EnVy selected the first battleground: Inferno. Mousesports won the pistol round and the successive ones, but afterwards EnVy claimed a consistent amount of gold by planting the bomb four times. The first half ended 9:6 for them.

Once the French team moved on the CT-side, they gained the control of the match, triumphing with a 7:1 score. Overall, the entire team obtained good stats, while four mouz’s players had a rating below 1.0.

The battle was more balanced on Train, where mouz had a great start as CT. They won the pistol round, defused the bomb a total of five times in the first half, and ended it 12:3.

They continued the win streak also as Terrorists, winning the first two rounds. EnVyUs didn’t give up and proved their bravery by claiming 13 rounds in a row, and triumphing in the map 16 to 14.

Alexandre “xms” Forté contributed to the team’s victory with 25 kills, getting a final rating of 1.33.
