Switchblade (Attack)

Avoid close combat with other brawlers. Crow's low DPS combined with his low health usually spells doom for him in these situations.

Instead, use his range to poke at enemies throughout the game. This prevents them from healing and forces them into bad positions, which can often win you the game if your teammates capitalize on the 2v3 situation.

Be cautious when fighting against retreating enemies: don't get cocky and overextend just for a free kill. Competent opponents will punish you for this mistake.

Swoop (Super)

Crow's super requires careful use:

  • Don't use it to assassinate full-health enemies. Even at full health, Crow would likely die due to his low health pool.

  • Even if you take out the target, you'll be in an undesirable position with your super not recharged. The target’s teammates can take advantage of your bad positioning and low health to kill you easily.

Instead, use Swoop for:

  • Repositioning.

  • Escaping sticky situations.

  • Finishing off low-health, high-priority targets (e.g., enemies holding 10 gems or about to score).

Gadgets

Defense Booster

This gadget gives Crow a 40% shield, making him surprisingly tanky.

Use it when:

  • You're down to 2/3 of your health.

  • You're about to use your super (making it a viable assassination tool).

  • You're about to rush an enemy.

Note: Mortis can't 3-shot Crow anymore.

Effective health calculation: 5700 / (1 - 0.40) = 5700 / 0.60 = 9500.

Slowing Toxin

  • Use when an opponent is pursuing you or to secure a kill on a high-risk target.

  • Effective against tanks and Max.

Star Powers

Extra Toxic

  • Reduces damage of poisoned opponents by 15%, helpful in 1v1 situations.

  • Often paired with Defense Booster for a tankier build, good for surviving against snipers, assassins, and rushers.

Effective health calculations:

  • With Extra Toxic: 5700 / (1 - 0.15) = 5700 / 0.85 = 6705.88.

  • With Defense Booster + Extra Toxic: 5700 / 0.49 = 11632.65.

Carrion Crow

  • Boosts damage versus opponents under 50% health.

  • Helpful because Crow's regular DPS is relatively low.

Tip: Stop attacking when your target has just been hit with a dagger and has 1000+ health left. The poison (291 x 4 ticks) will finish them off.

Utility Knives (Hypercharge)

  • Daggers from your super pierce and return to Crow when they reach maximum range.

  • Please note that daggers break upon hitting walls and will not return, so avoid using it in enclosed spaces.

Even if it deals massive damage, without Defense Booster Crow will just die within a second of landing because the shield boost from HC is only 5%. Be very careful even if you are using Defense Booster because this HC takes a while to charge, so don’t waste it on futile attempts.

How to rush

A good Crow player knows when to switch between aggressive and controlling playstyles:

  • Rush when enemies are hiding behind walls and need to abandon their position (e.g., in Hot Zone or against annoying throwers)

  • Defense Booster and Extra Toxic greatly improve survivability during close-range combat.

  • Be mindful of your positioning and escape routes when rushing.

Matchups

Good matchups:

  • Tanks

  • Mid-range brawlers

  • Healers

  • Leon

Bad matchups:

  • Snipers

  • Assassins

  • Spike

Modes

Crow excels in control-based modes like Gem Grab and Hot Zone, where his ability to force enemies back to their spawn is crucial. He is really good in Heist due to his Hypercharge.

Maps

Crow performs well on mid-range maps such as Minecart Madness and Infinite Doom.

Gear

Use mythic and shield gear.
