Honkai Star Rail characters' ages and heights in 2024
A list of the ages and heights of all Honkai: Star Rail characters. The data is based on lore, comics, game dialogues, artworks and videos, some official info, and lots of guesses.
MiHoYo has released only limited info on the ages and heights of all the characters in Honkai: Star Rail characters, so this list is mostly a guesswork based on lore, cinematics, artworks, comics, comparison between characters and real life people.
All the heights are indicated with both the United States customary system and the metric system, for easier reading. They are based on Sampo’s canonical height.
The community has guessed the approximate ages of most characters, so beware that most of them are not canon.
If you notice that I am missing age/height of a Honkai: Star Rail character on which we have official info, please contact me and provide the source. I will add them to the list as soon as possible.

Characters’ lore
Welt was born in 1947 on Earth, and his birth name is Joachim Nokianvirtanen Yang. The story of Honkai: Star Rail takes place after the events of APHO and is covered in the Alien Space Manga (year 2029, so Welt is 82 years old).
Decelerated aging is a remnant from when Welt was in possession of the Herrscher of Reason’s core. Using the reconstructive powers of the Core of Reason, he was able to replicate his own body cell by cell, so he “stopped” aging because his new body isn’t the “real” one.
Serval is the same age as Cocolia. They studied together and were “roommates”.
Cocolia adopted Bronya when she was in her 20s, about 12-15 years ago.
Gepard is only 2-3 years younger than Serval, as shown in a photo of them when they were children.
Natasha seems to be in her late 30s based on what she says about how long she was sealed off in the underground, and she was already an adult doctor when that happened.
The Chinese 1.0.5 version of the game stated that Yanqing is eight years old. The developers removed the exact age in a later version and replaced it with “young”, which might indicate a slightly older age as well.
Sushang is 15 at the beginning of the game. Character story, part IV: “Firstly, when making friends, you should consider if they’re good or bad. Sushang, you’re now 15 years old, but you still don’t understand how unpredictable and dangerous the world can be.“
Dan Heng is shown drinking in official artworks.
Asta might be at least 700 years old if she built the Herta Space Station. However, we don’t have accurate info on this topic.
Bailu is a Vidyadhara, a long-life species, so she ages slower.
Herta appears in the form of a puppet she modeled after her younger self (when she was a child), so we can’t estimate her real age.
Jing Yuan’s pet lion, Snoowmoon, waited for his return for 300 years. Qingzu: “Snowmoon didn't understand what The Hunt meant for Xianzhou, and thought Jing Yuan would never come back... It would wait at the front gates of the Seat of Divine Foresight, just waiting... And waiting... for three hundred years.”
The animated short “A Flash” shows Jing Yuan fighting against his master Jingliu in Year 7380 Star Calendar. The current timeline takes place in Year 8096 Star Calendar, so Jing Yuan must be at least 700 years old (and most probably, a few centuries older than that).
In Sojourners' Ghastly Reverie, Xueyi tells Huohuo that “During the 38 years you have worked for the Ten Lords, you have been constantly able to suppress the monster within your tail and maintain your personality. You are already a fitting judge.” We also know that she finished all her studies as during her quest she states “When I was in school people would always ask why my tail is on fire.”
In Luofu Myths: Pillow Whisper, Qingque states: “I have worked the same day over and over in the Divination Commission for hundreds of years.” However, in the final Penacony mission she tells: That's way too vicious! I'm less than 200 years old! I can still grow taller!
In Fyxestroll Garden, Hanya explains: “Come to think of it, my sister and I (Xueyi) have been working in the Ten-Lords Commission for nearly... Hmm, how long was that? Eight hundred years? A thousand years? ...Or was it a thousand and two hundred years?
In “Why Do the Heathen Rage?”, March 7th asks Gallagher his age, and he answers to be Thirteen. Thirteen is the tarot card number for Death, so he might refer to that. However, in the Chinese version, the line is explicitly expressed as an age.
CN line: …十三岁。
Translation: ...Thirteen years old.
Considering all the lore, Gallagher could be an artificial being made by the clockmaker, so 13 might really be his real age.
Jingliu was nearly a thousand years old when she formed the High-Cloud Quintet, following the destruction of the Cangcheng in the Year 6300 Star Calendar. The current year is Year 8100≥ Star Calendar, so Jingliu is roughly 1800 years old.
Pela’s age and the timeline
In Lynx’s companion mission “Farther Than The Snow Plains”, it is stated that Pela’s mother died 16 years ago while giving birth.
Pela was a cadet class mate of Serval, Dunn, and probably Cocolia.
She performed in Mechanical Fever, a rock band composed of Serval (guitar and vocals), her younger sister Lynx (keyboard), and Pela (drums).
Overall, it means that Pela was between 1 to 6 years old when she created the band, and we know that she graduated with Serval, so she graduated at the age of 6 at the most.
Pela being 16 doesn’t fit with the timeline. Considering everything from the lore, Pela should be in her 30s, or she should have started school at least 8 years before being born.
To further explain the timeline, I will quote Reddit user sinarblood, who posted a detailed breakdown.
Heights - from shorter to taller
With the Penacony update, HoYoverse revealed the canonical height of Sampo. The English translation incorrectly puts him at 5’9", while the original Chinese voiceline and the translations released worldwide show 180 cm, which is equal to 5’11".
CN voiceline: 他身高大約一米八上下，誤差在兩公分以內.
Translation: “His height is around 180cm, the margin of error is within 2cm.”
I have recalculated the heights of all the characters based on Sampo and the in-game character models, with a margin of error of about 1 cm.
